2008 Junior Women's Provincial League (JWPL)
Building on the success of the past 3 years, Field Hockey Ontario
has given its U-18 girls league ongoing status within FHO by putting in place a Standing
Committee – the Junior Women’s Provincial League Committee (JWPLC) - to organize and
operate it each year. Please see the

Hamilton Youth Canada's Delegate to the World Youth Hockey Promoters' Festival
Larissa Roechner of Hamilton has been chosen as Canada's only
delegate to the Festival being held from April 27-May 3 in conjunction with the Women's
Olympic Qualifier Tournament in Victoria B.C.

Ontario Powers To 2 National Titles
Senior Men and U19 Women won gold in March at the
National Championships in Calgary. U19 Men participated in a two team test series
with Alberta -losing the final game. The U19 women have captured 3 straight gold
championships (and the last 2 outdoor championships) and continue Ontario's domination
in this age group. Congratulations to all the athletes who participated in these champioships.

May Meltdown International Field Hockey Tournament -May 23-26, 2008
This tournament, run by Field Hockey Ontario, is an opportunity for club based
U14, U16 & U19 field hockey teams to participate in an international event. The event will be held at the
Hershey Centre, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada.

New ticket sales are under way - Field Hockey Ontario receives funding for
over 44 athletes and coaches from this initiative. (in 2007, $240,000 went directly to field hockey
athletes in Ontario).
